With the advent of social media platforms, striking a pose everywhere or taking a photo of your food before diving in seems like the norm. “Instagram boyfriend” and #OOTDs have also been made famous by these photo-loving millennials who never forget to snap away. No longer is photography reserved for the elite like in the past. Cameras of all sizes, shapes, and prices are available, and even kids as young as 5 can snap a photo or two.
But why does everybody seem so conscientious whenever a camera is poised or whenever a photo of them is posted on social media?
1. Photography first and foremost is a means to treasure and capture a moment.
Notice how wherever you are in a new place, you tend to reach for your phone and take photos then when you get home, you look at your pictures while smiling widely. With photos, we get to capture our happy moments and special memories and share to everybody on social media. We also use photos to document a significant event or milestone in our lives. First-time parents usually have 2000 plus photos of their child from birth to one year old. From the first smile to the first bite of food, a parent’s trusty camera is there.
